Inauguration of Army IBA IT Club
The Army IBA IT Club was officially inaugurated on 26 November through a special discussion event titled “Technology, Innovation and Education: The Horizon of the Future” held at the Army IBA Auditorium in Savar Cantonment. Speakers at the event discussed in detail the future directions of technology education, innovation, leadership and competitiveness in the global market.
Engineer Md. Ruhul Amin, Chairman of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board and Chief Guest of the event, said that modern technology and digital skills are essential to survive in the competitive world of the future. Initiatives like this create practical, hands-on learning opportunities for students.
The event was presided over by Brigadier General Syed Mohammad Shahed Rahman (Retd), Director of Army IBA and Chief Patron of the IT Club. The keynote presentation was delivered by Mohammad Kawsar Uddin, President of Technology Media Guild Bangladesh (TMGB) and Vice President of the Internet Society Bangladesh Chapter. In his speech, he elaborated on digital transformation, cyber security, artificial intelligence and the opportunities and challenges of the rapidly evolving global technology landscape.
Special guest Kazi Hasan Robin, Founder & CEO of Connectia and South Asia Regional Ambassador of the British Council Alumni UK Programme, highlighted the importance of international exposure, practical experience, and the skills required in the industry.
Guest of Honour Md. Mofazzal Hossain, Chief Executive Officer of BASIS Institute of Technology & Management (BITM), emphasized the responsible and positive use of technology and explained its growing relevance in the future job market.
Speakers at the event noted that if students develop ICT proficiency, an innovative mindset and digital capability, they will not only excel as professionals but also emerge as innovators, entrepreneurs and successful business leaders. They expressed hope that the IT Club’s activities will play a significant role in providing students with real-world experience, problem-solving skills, leadership development, and career preparation.
At the event, the newly formed leadership panel of the IT Club was announced. The club advisors and office bearers are as follows: Advisor– Assistant Professor Afzal Hossain; President– Fauzia Tasnim Antora; Vice Presidents- Tanvir Ahmed, Iftikhar Ahmed and Nishat Ahmed; Members- Hasnat Ragib Mannan and Abu Bakar Siddique.
