APrIGF 2026 to focus on resilient internet amid crises

The 17th Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF) will be held from October 4 to 7 in Kathmandu, Nepal, bringing together stakeholders from across the region to discuss emerging challenges in internet governance.

The forum’s theme this year is “Safeguarding a Resilient Internet in Times of Crisis.” The event will be held at The Plaza with both in-person and online participation.

First held in Hong Kong in 2010, APrIGF has emerged as a key regional platform for policymakers, businesses, technical experts, civil society, academia and youth to exchange views on internet governance.

Discussions at APrIGF 2026 will focus on AI governance, digital resilience and trust, universal and meaningful connectivity and the future of the multi-stakeholder internet governance ecosystem.

Participants will also discuss cyber security, online safety, privacy, misinformation, internet infrastructure resilience and the digital divide.

APrIGF 2026 is being hosted by the Internet Governance Institute, with Internet Exchange Nepal (npIX) and the Internet Society Nepal Chapter serving as co-hosts. The forum is organised by the APrIGF Multistakeholder Steering Group and supported by the APrIGF Secretariat.
